certification training part 2 |
 |
|
 |
On January 1,
1998, Bill 99 was passed giving the Workplace Safety and Insurance
Board (WSIB) responsibility for certifying members of Joint Health
and Safety Committees (JHSC). To achieve full certification status,
committee members must complete a two-part training process encompassing
both basic and workplace-specific hazard training.
In this case,
the WSIB developed the training standards and approves training
programs that meet the standards.
In Part Two,
the training needs of each workplace are determined by workplace
hazard assessment that must be completed by the employer. This
can be conducted in consultation with the JHSC members who have
completed Basic Certification. The training programs can be general
hazard training or sector specific.
Some courses
that we offer meet the requirements of sector specific training,
however, for courses that we do not offer, THSAO has further
information and a referral process. For more information, please
contact your regional office.
